And for a long time, one woman believed alone.
Proyecto Believe began with a single heart, a few supplies, and a fierce determination to stand beside Puerto Rico’s most vulnerable youth—especially when no one else would.
For years, our founder
Amelia “Missy” Crespo
showed up for young people who had no home, no safe space, no one to turn to. She filled backpacks, bought food, offered hugs, and listened—always listened. Every notebook, every workshop, every moment came out of her own pocket.
But now, it’s time to grow.
We’re building something bigger than one person. Something rooted in love, powered by community, and built to last. We’re laying the foundation for a safe haven where kids can heal, learn, and believe in themselves again.

Our Roots, Our Reach
Based in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, Proyecto Believe serves youth ages 11 to 28 who are facing homelessness, trauma, poverty, or lack of family support. Many come to us with little more than survival instincts—and leave with skills, confidence, and a circle that loves them fiercely.
We partner with families, schools, businesses, and local leaders to create a web of care and opportunity.
We are growing—and our vision is bold: to end cycles of pain by planting seeds of possibility.

What We Do
Some of the youth we serve have never had someone show up for them. They've been abandoned, overlooked, or told they’ll never amount to anything. But light always finds the cracks.
